Biogas conversion

The biogas-to-energy unit at the Bouqueval landfill consists of three boilers that burn biogas to heat water.

The steam produced turns a turbine that drives a generator. The power generated is transformed into high voltage electricity and fed into EDF's power grid through buried lines.

The steam is then cooled before being reinjected into the circuit.
